This was what we were going to achieve! Kareena Duggan from Scrappy Cow, Margaret River had organised this Scrappers Weekend October 2006 and it promised great things * grins *
Ok so how did we do it??
You can use a new canvass or even an old one and paint over the image with undiluted acrylic paint. Some like these foam brushes.. I liked normal brushes.. but didn't argue lols .. not wise thing to do when in a class of sooo many :)
Use a hairdryer to assist the proceess as 2 or 3 coats might be applied
On a scrap bit of paper .. paint up the other embellishments
Secret is: GREAT ATTENTION TO DETAIL .. remember to paint all the edges & allow to dry.
Stipple the edges with matching ink .. maybe a shade or two darker ... for the 2 foreground sheets of decorative cardstock/paper .. After that it's up to you ... how you put it together, what embellishments you used etc ... it's great fun ... and soo versatile.. an original gift and people can't help but hang in up to display it proudly :)

Here are a few of the canvasses the retreat participants completed :)(if you are one of the featured participants and want your canvass removed - just drop me a note)
Note: errr explaination - one of the things I do to remember a person's name is to use a descriptive term & RHYME it with their name eg: sexy Sharon, Tangy Tammy etc .. wasn't been cheeky ... I meet so many people and especially at gathering.. it's hard to remember everyone.. this has helped me out of real sticky situations lols...
This was the group of ladies in this Scrappers Weekend ... Can't remember everyone's names .. I'm sure it's there somewhere in all my notes * grins * ...
